I’ve had self-locking tapes for years and really like them, which is why I bought this tape. The operation of the tape is smooth and sure and is comfortable in the hand and stable when set on work surfaces. All in all, it’s very nice to use. It has a tape stand-out of about 7′, which is not as good as the wider tapes, but is still a useful distance.

Unfortunately, the Engineer portion of the tape consumes half of the tape, making the numbers smaller, thus harder to read. Komelon makes other self-locking tapes that don’t have this limitation, so if you don’t need the engineers portion, you’d be better off buying one of the other ones from Amazon. The self-locking tapes are absolutely the best to use, in my opinion. I have one of the more expensive, big brand name tapes that I have to fight with to get it to lock. I much prefer to use this tape, when I don’t need long stand-out or large numbers to read quickly and easily.
