KINTREX IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer with Laser Targeting Review

KINTREX IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer with Laser Targeting
I like this laser thermometer, but I’m not sure how you could check it’s accuracy other than to check the temperature of another thermometer by pointing the laser beam at it to see if they both read the same temperature.
If that’s acceptable, then mine reads the same as the thermometer in my house. But then I have to assume it’s accurate also.
I also wonder how accurate it is if you point at double glazed windows in your home.
I had friend pointed his into the sky and tell me the sky temperature, but if that’s true, then how can you check the temperature of a wall if it won’t see beyond the air you’re pointing through. So I have to believe it won’t check the temperature of the air accurately.
I still like this thing since it allows me to check temperature on a solid surface relative to something else. So I give it 4 stars because it’s very useful to me for that reason alone.
People should be aware that the laser beam does nothing but give you something visible that shows you where it’s pointing. Be advised to read the instructions well so you won’t be disappointed with the results.

KINTREX IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer with Laser Targeting Overview

The IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer with Laser is designed to accurately measure temperature from a distance. Simply pull the trigger and aim the pistol grip thermometer at an object using the laser indicator and the unit will provide an accurate temperature measurement in less than a second. The IRT0421 has an advanced highly accurate infrared sensor with a Distance to Spot Ratio of 12 to 1. It uses two AAA batteries instead of the 9-volt battery commonly found in less capable units. With its low voltage application-specific integrated circuit , battery life is increased by up to 60%.

This infrared thermometer provides accurate readings over a broad range of temperatures from -76 to 932 Degrees Fahrenheit (-60 to 500 Degrees Celsius). It displays both the current temperature and maximum temperature on the bright backlit LCD display. Advanced ergonomic design and rugged construction for industrial environments, the IRT0421 comes with a nylon holster for easy storage and transportation. This non-contact infrared thermometer has been designed for a broad range of uses including automotive diagnostics, HVAC service, electrical troubleshooting, cooking and food preparation, and hobbies.
